EUCDW
welcomes initiative of the International Monetary Funds IMF against
poverty
The International
Monetary Funds IMF intends to relieve 19 of the 20 poorest countries
of all their debts, so that they can fight poverty. Also the Worldbank
intends to decide about a similar measure.
The European
Union of Christian Democratic Workers EUCDW sees this as the right
steps on the way to achieve one of the most important goals of
the next decades: The fight against starvation and poverty. The
gulf between rich and poor must not widen.
The EUCDW
sees in this initiative an encouraging signal at the beginning
of the New Year 2006.

The European
Union of Christian Democratic Workers (EUCDW) is made up of 22
workers’ organisations from 16 countries and is an association
of the European People’s Party (EPP). Officially responsible for
the EUCDW is Christoph Weisskirchen, the General Secretary. Tel
